Day in the Life: Making a Rube Goldberg machine

Students of Professor Deon Blackwell’s Concepts and Practices II class are preparing their Rube Goldberg machine – inspired by the OK Go music video, “This Too Shall Pass” – to be featured this Wednesday at 11 a.m. on the Fine Arts Hall patio. The machine will spray, slather and splat a canvas positioned on the round bench, affectionately called “the pill,” in the middle of the FAH patio. Carts on pulleys, catapults and Diet Coke with Mentos launchers will all contribute to the students’ final semester project. Photo by Greg Hartley
